Top 3 Must-Try Food In Key West, Florida | Key Lime Pie

Key West is famous for their seafood, key lime pie, and conch. They are famous for spiny lobster with no claws, stone crabs, and hog-fish. Since my husband and I are only in Key West for a day (port in our Western Caribbean Cruise) we wanted to maximize our time exploring the place and eat local food.

AT THE FISHERMAN’S CAFE

The Port of Key West has tons of restaurants with great food. We have no specific recommendations for the best restaurant but we definitely know which are the “must food to eat in Key West”. If you are on a budget or for only a quick bite, here’s our top three “3” must try foods in Key West.

Conch

What is a conch? Conch is an edible snail that came from a large spiral shell. It is high in protein and contains vitamins and minerals. It is a national and specialty food in the Bahamas.

Conch Fritters

Conch Fritters

I compared this to meatballs. It is a mixed of conch meat and other ingredients, formed in a ball, and deep-fried. We dipped it to ketchup and tartar sauce. Yummy. One order is good to share.

Conch Chowder

Conch Chowder

I am a soup person and clam chowder is one of my favorites. Conch chowder is tomato-based mixed with conch meat and some vegetables. It’s light and not too filling.

KEY LIME PIE

Key Lime Pie

End your meal with key lime pie. It was delicious. I have a sweet tooth but for me, this is my top1 must-try food in Key West. A lot of restaurants are selling this.

Overall our experience was great. My husband and I spend about $30: conch fritters, conch chowder, drinks, Cuban sandwich and now my favorite KEY LIME PIE.
