Athens
Athens is the most popular and favorite destination of cruise ports in Greece. Athens is the capital of Greece and the heart of the Ancient Greek Empire and Civilization. With more than 3 million population, Athens is also the center of tourism in Greece. That’s why it became the number one destination of all cruise lines. The Acropolis is the most popular place you can go when you visit Athens. Acropolis is a fortified archeological site that sits at the top of the hill. Another place that you want to take advantage of is Plaka, a small town located beside the Acropolis. If you like shopping and food, visit the Plaka area. There are more places you can go when you visit Athens but then again, if you’re coming from the ship, make sure you manage your time correctly. Cruise lines offer shore excursions on the ship, or if you like to do it on your own, there is a Hop on Hop off bus available at the cruise terminal of Athens.

Santorini
This place is our personal favorite. Santorini is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 120 miles southeast of Greece’s mainland. Santorini was named by the Latin Empire in the 13th Century and is a reference to Saint Irene from the name of the old cathedral in the village of Perissa. Today, it’s a trendy destination for tourists, especially couples and newlyweds, because of its romantic views of the island. That’s why this is one of the favorite cruise ports in Greece. You will have to take a cable car or ride a donkey to reach the top, where all the shopping stores and restaurants are located. Oia is another village that you can visit in Santorini; however, it is a 20-minute drive from Fira village, or you can take a boat ride to Fira port.

Corfu Cruise Ports
